Red Shark is a long-range anti-submarine guided weapon that is launched from DDH-II or above destroyers to attack remote enemy submarines. It can attack in all directions by vertical launch and has excellent accuracy of sea surface reach by midcourse guidance. The vertical launch system, which is equipped with a red shark, is a standard ship vertical launch system and is being operated as standard vertical launch platform for various guided missiles developed in Korea. The payload is lightweight torpedo with equivalent performance to Blue Shark.
