Artificial intelligence has advanced dramatically since 2012, and is emerging as a main core technology for the intellectualization, unmanned operation, and autonomous operation of future weapon systems. The application of artificial intelligence to national defense can largely be divided into the fields of voice recognition, object/environment/action recognition, planning/decision making, and multi-agent intellectualization.

Most of the current artificial intelligence is achieved through learning based on a large amount of data. The ADD is developing a big data platform on the basis of open software. Such a big data platform was installed recently to be utilized not only as a platform for the storage, management and browsing of big data, but also as a platform for data acquisition and learning that uses deep learning data for artificial intelligence, and is designed in such a way it can be used for various analyses of big data.
