Hongsangeo (Red Shark) is ROK Navy's ASROC (Anti-Submarine Rocket) system launched vertically from a surface ship to engage the enemy submarine with a lightweight torpedo.

The system has adopted TVC which enables omnidirectional attack, and its midcourse guidance capability ensures the precise airborne torpedo deployment over the aimed target point. Hongsangeo also possesses enhanced anti-submarine operational capability via high interoperability with the ship's combat system.

The KVLS (Korean Vertical Launch System), equipped with indigenously developed unique 'launch flume exhaust technology', operates the Hongsangeo system and functions as the standard launch system for various missile systems developed in Korea.
