Haeryong (Sea Dragon) is a tactical ship-launched land attack missile capable of stand-off attacks on land targets such as surface-to-ship missile bases or fire-and-control artillery radar bases.

The missile is equipped with a sub-munition warhead capable of destroying a wide area target, and can be launched from both inclined launchers and vertical launchers, enabling operations from various platforms (surface ships) — from small frigates to destroyers.
