The KF-X Exploratory Development is an international joint program with Indonesia to develop state-of-the-art fighter aircraft for the Republic of Korea and Indonesian air forces.

Through the Exploratory Development, the required Technology Readiness Level (TRL) for System Development has been achieved, and the configuration designs and component layout designs have succesfully met the military requirements, laying the groundwork for future breakthroughs in aerospace R&D. The KF-X Full Scale Development is in progress, led by KAI (Korea Aerospace Industries), while the Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar — one of the core components of the KFX — is currently under development by ADD.
