The Tactical EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infrared) Reconnaissance System is installed on an external pod of a high-speed and high-maneuvering fighter aircraft to acquire digital images of tactical targets day and night.

The acquired images are compressed and transmitted to the ground station via data links, and the ground station provides the operators tactical imagery information through data receiving, image processing, interpretation and dissemination.

Offering four different types of automatic scanning modes depending on the target, Korea's first electro-optical equipment mounted on fighters uses high-resolution EO/IR cameras capable of operating in high-speed flights.
