Space-Based Surveillance and Reconnaissance System
Space-Based Surveillance and Reconnaissance System
The Space-Based Surveillance and Reconnaissance System consists of both satellite systems and ground systems. Sensors of the satellite constellation such as the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), electro-optical camera and infrared camera acquire image data on ground targets and transmits the information to the ground system in real-time. Images are then produced and provided to the end-users.
Commonly referred to as the "core" surveillance and reconnaissance system, it provides the basis for imagery information analysis, identification of targets, and decision-makings.
ADD is currently developing SAR satellites, IR cameras, and ground systems.
