OPA-Based LADAR (Laser Detection and Ranging)
OPA-Based LADAR (Laser Detection and Ranging)
OPA-based Laser Detection and Ranging (OPA-LADAR) is a cutting-edge LADAR technology based on Optical Phased Arrays (OPA), where multiple miniature optical antennas printed on a small-size silicon substrate form a single laser beam with capabilities to control beam directions.
ADD is developing OPA technologies and devices for special-purpose LADARs which will enable miniaturization, low-power consumption, light weight, and high frame rate — optimal for use in drones, unmanned vehicles, robots, and specific-purpose hand-held 3D cameras.
