Directional Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) is an electro-optical equipment protecting friendly aircraft from approaching enemy MANPADS.

When MWRs detect a launch signal (threat detection), DIRCM radiates coded laser beams to the enemy anti-air missile to deceive the seeker.

The DIRCM has been indigenously developed and is mounted on various platforms including helicopters and fixed wing aircraft to enhance their survivability.
