Surface­to­Air Anti­Missile (SAAM) system is developed for self­defense of a naval vessel from an incoming anti­ship missile, which is one of the major threats to the surface vessels.

The interceptor has all­weather intercept capability through dual type seeker (IR and RF) against enemy anti­ship missile which frequently employs sea­skimming flight pattern.

The system is known to be superior compared to any other systems of similar class in the world.
